Just got back from R-Tech and have nothing but good things to say. Nice bunch of guys, Nick is a very friendly guy and seriously knowledgable, the work that he has carried out on my car was spot on with the results surpassing my expectations.

Top bloke, will be visiting again next year once TBE and HPFP are in place...might end up needing a clutch first though ;)

Drive back was good, never expected it to make so much difference, especially considering the car was making 282BHP prior to mapping!:drive1:

Much as I know niki is fab and have nothing but good things to say about him I very much doubt you would have been disappointed with a revo map

Stage 1 is awesome the way the cars should have been from stock imo

I agree on both points mate, after the test drive I said to Niki that's how the Cupra should have come out of the box and he agrees with that. I did initially go for a Revo map but the cable failed partway through the download. The reason I never went back is that the agent didn't do a before and after dyno run and after doing some research I felt more comfortable with Niki's custom process of mapping. If the map had downloaded originally I would have not know any different and as you said I would have been impressed.
I didn't mean it to sound like I was knocking Revo because that was not my intention.

APR appealed to me with having switchable modes without the need for the extra cost of the SPS and the fact they do the 1+. After my initial experience they would've been my next choice but then I discovered R-Tech. Awesome do get some excellent customer service feedback.

Wow that is an impressive power! Didn't realise r-tech did mapping of seat cars I would have taken mine there aa they are just down the road!

Good luck with that. Generally they are fully booked for several weeks in advance. You might get lucky with a cancelation spot as long as you're flexible, as they wont have many slots available.

R - Tech specialise in the 1.8T and the 2.0 Tfsi (EA113, MED9 ecu), so it doesn't matter whether it's in a VW, Audi, Seat or Skoda. They also do various Stage 1 maps for the TDi lumps (PD and CR)

It was making 282 standard with just the Evoms. Niki attributes it to the centre exit exhaust due to it being straight and less restrictive. He says he's not seen one Cupra R yet that made manufacturers BHP figures, he says they all make above standard.

I don't mind waiting, didn't realise how busy they would be, not quite ready yet

Only thing with r tech is they tune to the hardware on the car so you need to go get re tuned every time you add more stuff. It's APR you have free upgrades and better adaptions on the map.

To get the most out of hardware then r tech is pretty much the place to go, but I don't think there would be very much in it if you had the same mods and went up against a APR or Revo tuned car

My own R ran 280 when completely stock so doesn't sound like the intake has added anything before the map

Not every mod requires a hardware change, often there is enough 'headroom' in the map so minor mods won't require further tweaking.

In what way do APR maps have the ability to adapt better than any other map? All you have are switchable pre-determined maps based on fuel RON rating and stage of tune/hardware mods.

APR maps have a very good ability to adjust to different hardware, for example I am running the exact same map as weeg and there is a 30-40 bho difference due to his better hardware

I'm not just saying that is and APR thing as I beleive revo maps can do similar.

with r-tech you don't need get it retuned at all, you go for a map tweak which costs dyno time £35p/h thats it.

when you go for a APR or Revo update you still have to pay labour costs.

Map tweet = retune lol

I have never paid labour costs for upgrades but that's dependant on the dealer

not really, a map tweak is exactly that.............a tweak in other words not as much work as a full tune.

Rtech actually care about your care and talk you through the process unlike APR and Revo where they're just after your money.
