Hi all,

I need some help finding a drivers headlight for my car.

I need a new one as the old one is going green on the inside, ive searched and searched online but cant find any new ones. Part number is 6L2941006L. There seems to be a lot of different ones out there but ive bought a few and they didn't fit. I also need it to have that little bulb shield too as the other side has this.

The other side is new from the previous owner so cant really put a second hand one on it.

Any help is greatly appreciated as right now my bumper is off and car sat in my garage waiting for a replacement unit.

Thanks for this. I looked on autodoc and only one Valeo part has matching OEM numbers and was out of stock.

I will try TPS but obviously shut at the moment with lockdown.

to make it more complicated I found matching parts but mine has the little light shield and a lot don’t!

You can't walk in to collect, but TPS are still open and will deliver

Cupra headlights only came from dealers 5 years ago when I looked. I was £163 inc Vat about 5 years ago.

The last letter is just a revision number normally so a B, L or N are the same thing.
The odd/even numbers are for left/right headlights if you look at the codes.

Valeo have 5 levels for RHD but no Cupra yet they are made by Valeo.

obturator = Shield in front of bulb

The twin headlights come in 3 types, silver, dark with bulb cover and dark without bulb cover. It is not grade of car but year that determines what you have.

Thank you for that very comprehensive list. Most helpful!
Would all of the different lamps be compatible with a 2005 car?
Mine has the twin reflector with black background but i'd love to upgrade to Xenon/HID

Someone tried to fit Xenons at one point.. you need headlight washers and self levelling system fitted. The washers parts need a special bumper and they had to hack stuff to get it to miss the Intercooler pipework. So I guess possible but not a quick job. I had/have aftermarket Xenons which disappear for MOTs - the stock lights are shockingly bad .. especially with a chipped cupra tdi in Scottish winter's commute.

You are so right about the stock lights being bad...
I was talking to a mate who had fitted a set of LED bulbs to his. He reckoned the beam was great, non dazzling. So I bought a pair and mentioned this to our MOT man who then told me that he was talking out of his backside. There is no discernible pattern and will dazzle! So now i'm contemplating fitting them to the high beam instead of dipped which is where my mate fitted his.
My bumper has what looks like plates over the cut outs where the headlight washers would sit so I think fitting those might not present to big of a problem. Do you know if the self levelling system is connected to the suspension or just at the back of the lamps?
I've even contemplated removing the front bodywork and fitting some framework to allow bolting through the plastic into to fit some spotlights but I'm not convinced it wouldn't look crap :(
