I have the Leon COPA 13 plate. I was told it falls on the last 2012 plate. I am needing headlights as they are really foggy but I can't afford the dealership prices. They gave me the oem number but it doesn't help me as dont know if I have halogen or Xenon lights. Please of someone knows when I can get reasonable headlights from let me know.
Thanks Maxine

If they are foggy on the outside you can get them restored. A detailer local to me does headlights for £25 the pair.

Thank you for replying, I've already had them restored but the garage has said it's on the inside now. I was told to heat up the seal and clean them but am scared I can't put them back together again.

Ok, then if its your daily car then I would get another set. You can always experiment with the older ones when you have replaced them, then you have nothing to lose.

If you join the MK2 Leon owner thing on Facebook there are several people breaking cars, you need to make sure you get the facelift lights, they are different to the early cars.

When you say they are foggy on the inside, do you mean moisture, as that can be cleared out with a hair dryer? Are you missing the rear covers, as that should be the only way moisture can get inside?

UV clouding of the headlights is (usually) on the outer surface only.

Thank you, I will try a hair dryer. I know the back of lights are covered but will double check tomorrow. I would rather try anything as for 2 new ones I'm looking at +-£450 each excluding labour. I will let you know what the outcome is

What part numbers were you given? That would make it easy to work out if you have xenon or halogen lights.

The headlights are made by Valeo. for the RHD models they only sell the halogens aftermarket. The xenons are available from Seat only but if you have halogens you can get the genuine Valeo lights much cheaper than what a Seat dealer would charge.

I was given these part numbers from Seat dealership 5P2941753D and 5P2941754D
It says headlights for dynamic and static cornering lights.
I just don't know where else to try

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but those are part numbers for xenon headlights which means Seat is your only option if you want new ones.

If condensation inside the lights that's the issue then I'd try the suggestion above for drying out the inside of your lights. If it's some other sort of problem then I don't know what else to suggest unfortunately.

Thank you for all your help. I am going to try it tomorrow but, the other day I replaced one of the lights with normal bulb ?. How can you tell what lights you have as they look like normal to me
