Hello and a few questions

Hi all,
Just ordered an Ateca 1.5 man xcellence lux which I should be taking delivery of in mid March. Can't wait, the first new car I've ever had!

Just a quick question on options and what will be missing. Ive noticed that you can no longer pick options and you get what you're given with the trim level you get. So what will the xcellence lux be missing?

I'm thinking of getting a ODBeleven as I also have a Volkswagen and I've heard you can turn options on from that. So just wondering what I can do with it and what can be turned on which I won't have.

Cheers

What they did was to remove options from the Xcellence which you could order. The Lux has some of those options built into it but fundamentally you can't turn things on if the component was never built into the car. The good news is you can turn on traffic sign recognition (TSR) since the Lux comes with lane assist and the software is present in the car for that. It will warn you when you exceed the road speed programmed into the maps or / and speed signs read via the lane assist camera using image recognition:

and I provided the Obdeleven code here, post 65

Traffic jam assist requires a DSG since it brings the car to rest through the gears in traffic. I've got it but only used it once. Not that keen on auto assisted driving.

We do know that TSR can be turned on in the Lux, that I use all the time and would recommend.

I'm happy with Obdeleven, as long as you are careful with how you go about things, a step at a time, take backups and be methodical you shouldn't have a problem. In that thread I have listed things that I've done, there are other things you can do with it. You can use it across VAG cars if you have more than one.

You can do more with VCDS, costs more etc. Do buy the Pro version of the Obdeleven thou which enables you to do your own coding rather than the base version which uses the micro payment apps. People download the app for free, look at the apps and think, that's all it will do - no. Then never used it go on to tell people on boards it's limited by what they saw - never understanding the product divides to the Base version and the Pro version. I've only shown the ones you do in the Pro version with work threw screens.
