Hi guys

My exhaust has been slightly noisy recently and the MPG down a little, when the car was having its Cam belt done i asked the garage to have a look at the exhaust. They said they found a hole in the flexi pipe coming out of the engine block and going in to the cat.

Spoke to Seat and they want £700 for a new exhaust section. The flexi's can not be ordered separately they only come with the cat.

Had a look on the net and it appears you can buy generic flexi pipes that can be welded in.

Anyone got any experience of this or another suggestion on a repair option which is cheaper than £700 + labour?
Can you use Gun Gum on a flexi pipe.

Thanks

How much would you want for them? and if i sent a courier to collect them would that be a problem?

I'll speak to the mechanic and see what it will cost me to get it replaced. I'm a sparky, this is beyond me!!!

Can anyone else help as the offer above is not the correct type. I have the non-turbo 2.0 FSI engine.
Or does anyone know of a cheap way to repair a hole (that will pass the MOT!!) in a flexi pipe?

shame... alot people including me have old TFSI exhaust systems to get rid of too.. prob best ask a garage and see what they can do weither its a weld job or something else. Have you tried ringing some local car brokers/scappys for a FSI downpipe? from a a3/golf/ and your leon of course. good luck.
