Hi hope someone can help with this problem and before you say I've checked and can't see it being answered already. 
As it seems very specific rather than general
So I have a whining whirring sound from my engine when pressing on the accelerator but it's hard to determine if it's mechanical, electrical or fluid in origin.
To be specific-
This happens probably 70% of the time I'm driving but definitely not all the time.
When speed is constant ( at any speed) the engine makes a distinct whining sound
Goes away when foot is lifted off accelerator
Is not there at all when coasting in or out of gear
Does not happen when stationary and accelerator is pressed.
So far I've concluded it shouldn't be the gears/ gearbox as I can go down hill in gear foot off accelerator and sound is not there. Only happens when foot is on accelerator but it happens both in acceleration and at a constant speed.
So I'm thinking something fuel related ???? Any ideas?
