just been reading the mpg thread on here and was quite suprised by what some people are getting.

i recently purchased a lcr210 and am not sure if its me lead foot or the car.

local urban driving im getting approx 20mpg, average trip being 4 miles

on £20 petrol i drive mainly local and the occasional dual carraige way trip im getting 80 miles (keeping in mind that i was driving like my granny keeping the car mainly under 3k revs.

i have recently changed the oil, am waiting for m NGK's to arrive and then will change the air filter for a piper or green cotton filter.

is there anything else i can do to imrpove the mpg????????

tyres are goodyear and are running on 32psi all round

just for the record on a long run to yorkshire i managed to get 210 miles on £32. average speed 75mph.

I think you have answered your own question to be honest Bash, short journeys will kill your mpg, 20 mpg over 4 miles probably isn't that bad.

And looking at your long journeys you are looking about 400 miles a tank, which is what I get and I do mostly motorway stuff.

Take the revs up a little to closer to 3,500RPM, stick at or round about 55MPH, listen to classic FM or the like.
Don't accelerate hard as this kill your mpg.
Good fuel and keep a close eye on tyre pressure making sure you run the recommended pressure.

If you've read the MPG you'll have found out I've managed 42.5MPG.........
