How do you reset service indicator?

I've got a '97 Toledo Sport that I've just had serviced but the guy in my local garage doesn't know how to reset the service indicator on the trip computer, it keeps coming up and saying 'IN02'. Anyone know how to reset it?

Service indicator

I saved this for when I needed it myself (off here).

turn on key to LIGHTS
(turn ignition key 'til all check lights come on?)

press trip in AND HOLD
(gotcha )

still holding turn key off
(gotcha)

then back on to lights on
(with trip button still pushed in, turn ignition 'til check lights come on again?)

release then turn to right
(release trip button, then turn trip button to the right)

and hold intil you see SERVICE in screen ~(approx 5 secs)
and hold in trip button 'til you see service in screen

should then be reset

I tried that and it didn;t work!

I've got a trip dongle with the button on the end to change the display (MPG, MPH etc.) with a switch A&B that shows the overall trip details of the most recent details.

This thing is driving me bonkers! :head:

I posted something about service indicator resetting ages ago anf looking at the age of your car this might be just what you need. It should be in the hints and tips bit.

Woohoo!! Got the real 'actual' instructions that work from SEAT (UK), what a helpful bunch of people!

We would like to advise you that our technical manual for reprogramming
states the procedure as follows:

- Turn the ignition on, pressing the time set button (H) at the same time
for less than 2 seconds in order not to modify the set time. OIL will appear
on the display. Leave the key in the ignition position.
- Press the time (H) button again. The miles will be displayed (150 =
15,00m).
- By pressing the minute button (M) the numbers can be set from 150 to zero.
- Pressing (H) again, it will read time in months, from 12 to zero with the
(M) button.
- Pressing (H) again, enter the IN 01 display, 12 month service. Change time
from more to less with the (M) button.
- Pressing (H) the IN02 display will be entered, 30,000m service (300 =
30,000m) set the m to zero pressing (M).

Following the established system, amounts of time or miles can be entered
for the technical assistance services. Return the ignition key to zero. the
system is now ready for the next service.

Setting to zero

To set to zero, the entry method is the same as that for reprogramming, with
the ignition key and the hour button.
Once the OIL display has been shown, with the minutes button, pressing the
counters of the respective service for two seconds will set them to zero.
the cycle display of 5 dashes " - - - - -" will appear for 2 seconds as
confirmation. Then, press the chosen service again.
For the rest of the services, press the hour (H) again and enter IN01 or IN
02. Repear the prior instructions, setting all services to zero.
Remove the ignition key. The mode is exited at zero.

Much happiness in my household now as I'm no longer talking about my service indicator!
