How to clean maf sensor

Hello

I think that my maf might be oily. I have I removed the maf from the air induction and it looks like it is a sealed black plastic unit with a metal plate on it. At one end it is open which faces the airflow. My question is do I have to remove the sensor from this housing to clean it?

The car is a 2.0 leon cupra tfsi

Could just take the unit off and spray some of that MAF cleaner into it.

The exhaust if very black since I fitted my itg cai last week so I'm guessing it is running rich due to over oiling filter so I think I need to get at the actual sensor to remove oil film

Do a log on lambda and check for error codes. Have you had a remap?
