Hi hope someone can help please.

The rear drivers side lock actuator has failed. Door locked shut and child locks on......

I can't get the door card of as it seems to be sandwiched in the closed door.

Any suggestions as to getting the door open to fix the problem. ....

Many thanks

John.

I had the exact same problem with my passenger door (3door)

The only option i had was to yank the door card off causing it to crack which I later repaired with a glue gun(bodged job i know).

I then unplugged the actuator and got a screwdriver into the actual mechanism, working it back and forth until the door opened.

Hope this helps let us know if you manage it!

Thanks For your help guy's

Got the door card off, only a couple of broken clips:rofl:, had banged the door where the lock is and it unlocked, then used the video to put the hook inside the door handle to release.

Thanks for your help...

Next question how do you release the window from the regulator to remove the panel containing the lock.... The fronts were easy but this one looks allot more complicated.

Have been looking but haven't found anything yet.

Done It,
With help from this found on briskoda -

Hi Fellow Sufferers,

I removed my rear drivers side window yesterday.

Tip 1: Window Regulator Roll Pins: It looks like one part but is actually two. An inner and an outer.

Remove the Inner Roll Pin by screwing in an M5 sized bolt then get hold of the bolt and extract Inner Pin with pliers. Easy.

I was using pliers to remove the outer roll pin for a long time after screwing in an M8 sized screw. After I gave up and removed the screw the Outer Roll Pin came out with pliers anyway. It must have eased up when the M8 screw went in. If I did this again I would just put it in the screw/bolt and then take it out again and try plier extraction.

Tip 2: To extract the glass remove the rubber seals x 2. Then position the rear edgeof the glass just behind the Rear Quarter Window frame and lift. As you lift you will be able to get your fingers behind the glass and pull it towards you and away from the frame.

Tip 3: Remain patient.
