Idle control valve wiring.

Hi there,

I got cordoba 1.6i petrol with single point injection. It has wildly erratic idle and wont pass MOT emissions. They cant test it basically. Took it to garage who did usual vaccuum leak check, distr cap , leads , plugs (last 3 new) Couldnt help me.

Ive taken it on myself to learn. I took throttle body off, it was clean. However idle control valve was gunked up and the thread was stripped on one side so though the motor works it wont turn valve out to adjust throttle position for idle.

tps volt readings go closed 0.02V -4.5V open (starts too low???)

Also garage gave fault codes 00282 throttle position actuator 27-00 implausible signal
00516 closed throttle position switch 30-10 open or short to plus
00518 TPS 31-10 open or short to ground
00518 tps 30-10 open or short to plus
00525 lambda sensor 29-10 short to grnd

I got feeling i got wiring probs, or ecu.
Cant find wiring diagram for the 6 pin IACV connector and got 12v going to both motor terminals.

Sorry for long thread, but it saves adding info. Where can i get wiring diags, specs info and advice? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

I found a sort of wiring diagram on google.I'm not allowed to post links yet.

Search for "seat cordoba wiring". It's the first link. "Seat Ibiza & Cordoba 1993 to 1999 wiring diagrams"

You might find something useful in it. Not sure though.

Hi. Thanks for reply Dani. In the end I bought a new IACV fitted it and the idle is fine again, got through the MOT, so I dont know whay the voltages seemed wrong? Only problem now is its running stupidly rich. I dont know if the ECU didnt reset correctly or the garages ectra vaccuum hoses have changed things, but it goes 30 miles for £10 ! whenit was on empty and light came on I unhooked neg battery terminal overnight, next day when replaced the fuel gauge went back up to showing around 1/4 FULL??? Drove it 6 miles and it was back on empty. ANY ONE GOT ANY IDEAS?

Sender in the fuel tank may be up the duff.
