The recall is because the old injectors in the 2.0l tdi engines were failing at a stupid rate so VAG made some better ones and threw out this recall, dont know how many seats, audis and skodas were affected but 80,000 vw's were recalled. ive just this minute finished writing an essay on this recall as part of my college work! check the back of your rocker cover for oil leaks as they dont replace the gasket as part of the recall (stupidly as it only costs £12 or something daft)

Injector Recall

Reading the posts about the injector recall. I wonder if this would apply to my Toledo 2L Tdi 2007 as I have not received notification that a recall was due. Can anyone enlighten me please. aggie

Aggie, it's not an official recall so SEAT haven't been sending out formal notifications, but instead have been carrying out the work either when owners have brought their vehicle in for a service or sooner if owners have contacted SEAT specifically about the issue.

AFAIK it only affects PD170 engines but I'm not 100% sure.

Had mine (Freetrack) done about 6 weeks ago and there's a definite fuel consumption improvement. Also seems to be more responsive when hitting the gas pedal.

It is on 140 PDs as well as I had mine on my 56 plate passat done in December by my local VW dealer I hadn't had an official letter but asked at the service desk if they needed doing and they confirmed it did.

I'll concurr with that. A colleague of mine has a 56 plate Passat with a 140 PD engine. He had 3 injectors fail. One initially replaced and then a second one went a few months later, replaced and then the following day the third, at which point the last 2 were replaced. This was about a year ago and at the time VAG weren't admitting to a problem and so the bill came to >£2500 for all the replacements. Once it became obvious that there was a problem and VAG agreed, he got reimbursed for the work. When the recall was initiated it went back to the dealer to check that the replacements previously fitted were of the 'new' type.

Anyone know the full scope of this? I've had injector errors on my 2006 TDI Sport twice. It's due a service now and it'd be nice to be in the know when I book it.

Get it checked QUICK. My FR TDi (Company car) failed completely 100 miles from home! Seat replaced the loom, the ECU and the injectors. Runs much better now also with better economy.

I found this
The following vehicles with the engine codes listed are affected.

Passat 3C 2006-2008 with the BKP, BMA, BWV, BVE, BKP, BVE, BMA, BWV, BMR, and BUZ engines

Golf 5 2006-2009 with the BMN engine

Touran 2006-2010 with the BMN engine
here http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=74194 which lists engine codes for affected VW vehicles. I don't know whether SEAT engine codes are the same ( I would guess they are ) so any vehicles with engine codes listed are possibly affected.

injectors

I called in to Seat today and inquired about any recalls for my Toledo 2L TDi with the BKD engine and after checking my vin No. they told me that there were no recalls with regard to the injectors or wiring. So, it looks like the BKD engines are ok unless anybody knows different and I would be pleased to receive any further information on this subject. aggie
