Thought i'd just put a couple of things here about coding a new dash cluster. This ross-tech video covers most of the procedure, although annoyingly it fails to mention the coding of the odometer to match your current mileage (only possible with a brand new cluster that is in 'virgin mode')

Before you can program the oddometer you need to have followed all the above procedures in that video, plus also have matched at least one key to the new cluster too. (vid below)

The mileage can only be entered in kilometers, so you will need to convert your current mileage into km using an online converter so that you can follow the procedure below:

The extra steps to set the odometer weren't very clear on the ross-tech website. This is what you need to do:

First you must switch the odometer to read in KM's rather than miles, by changing the 3rd digit of the 5 digit number in the 'soft coding' field, from a '4' to a '1' In the example below you will see my original code was 05424, so that would change to 05124.

Do this by

[Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Recode - 07]

Change the 3rd digit from a "4" (miles) to a "1" (Km)
[Do It!]
Confirm that the odometer in the car now shows kilometers, not miles.

Now you need to enter your old mileage, converted to kilometers and divided by 10.

Enter "channel number" 09 to select channel
Put in the number of km divided by 10. Example: If old cluster had 50,357 km, put in 5036.
[Test]
Triple check that the number of kilometers displayed is correct. Once you save this value, you will be unable to change it EVER!
[Save]

Finally we want to switch the cluster back to Miles by reversing the change we made to the soft-coding earlier.
[Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Recode - 07]

Change the 3rd digit from a "1" (Km) back to a "4" (Miles)
[Do It!]

Confirm that the odometer in the car now shows miles, not kilometers. Make sure that the mileage reading is correct.
