Installing rear tailgate spoiler on the Leon FR mk1.

Thinking of installing a rear tailgate spoiler as I think it would complement the original FR roof spoiler and add a sportier look to the whole car. Thing is been browsing through quite a few pics and I have only seen a few ones with an additional rear spoiler. Before I take the plunge would be interested to know what you guys who have been modifying your vehicles for some time now think of my idea ?

I think a slightly more upturned and extended roof spoiler would be perfect. Other than that i havnt seen it pulled off well except this

Thanks for your reply Rich T. My Leons FR colour is platinum grey. Difficult to find a cool spoiler that goes with the cars lines. There are rear lip spoilers that dont make that much of a difference or wing like spoilers that dont quite seem right yet I came across this particular pedestal spoiler that in my opinion looks pretty cool and compliments the original roof spoiler fitted on all the sporty Leons mk 1. It is made by Maxton Designs and the price is round about £110 plus £80 to have it primed, painted and installed. Found a Spanish online shop called Autohispania that has loads of spoilers and other accessories for the all SEAT cars.

Most probably it would certainly give it a cool and personal look as there are not many Leons Mk 1 around with tailgate spoilers. Will post a few pics here when I do it.

You know what with the right stance and wheels that could look really cool.

Im toying with the idea of some of these

Although im not a huge fan of the second one, i just think the lip could really do with a bit more exaggeration.

Not sure weather id remove the boot release S badge though as a mod.

Yeah i really like the lip extension. And yeah im not a fan of the boot smoothing, it looks like a face without a nose.

Ahh, the Maxton gurney flap. I have one I've yet to install but I can plonk it on top of my car and post pics if that'd help

The maxton one is a nice fit and looks well just gives enough extension and lip kick without going over the top, they ain't cheap for what they are but the others just looked out of place I thought. Here's a side view of mine.
