also will i be better off spending my money on an exhaust system? will i get better gains from a full cat back compared to a K&N??

May I ask why you are on about a K&N please? Did I miss something?
Carbonio is a waste of money because all it does is take 50% of the air designed to go in to the engine bay, or water if its raining, through the engine cover on to the air filter. The most restrictive part of the OEM intake is the shitty engine cover assembly.

I woundnt bother unless i was going for a Forge twintake, ITG intake or Evoms intake just my opinion.
Also the carbonio is a COMPLETE waiste of money and so is a panel filter!
Also the "evil newspaper type material" is actually ever so slightly better than a piperx or k&n, ive explained this but nobody ever listens and goes and does it anyway and then finds out the hard way.
Theres plenty of threads out there if you search "intakes" or "filters"

You should listen to these guys mate, they really do know what they're on about! Save your money and get a full exhaust system with high flow downpipe and a decent intake as listed above by RobH, you won't be dissapointed!
Said this loads of times now, but the two fastest K04 Cupra's both ran open cones with heat shields (EVOMS and VF 3"). Even yet, no other Cupra has gone in to the 12's on the 1/4 mile or topped over 112mph terminal speed.

Mine did 114mph terminal Al even when the surface was shocking.
I wont be far off 12's come the 24th of this month either, if im in the country.
