Ive just fitted my toyosport front mount intercooler to my facelift 2003 cupra,
I must say it was much harder than i thought, took me 7 hours and ill say im confident with a spanner, it took an hour to get the bumper off, then another 45 mins to get the old pipework out, the new pipework didnt seem to fit nicely, i done loads of searches on here and saved some pics, also mo arrifs pipework diagram, its a really tight fit, i had to chop the foglight section out of both sides of the bumper
Ive put the bumper back on, but its not quite sitting flush against the wing,
You can definately here the air getting sucked around more,
I thought it was a boost leak, doe this sound about right, ive had a stage 1 remap, it peak boosts to 13 psi for a couple of seconds then drops down to 10psi, then if i put my foot down again, itll boost back to 13 again for a couple of seconds.
Does this sound right? Im pretty sure it just sounds louder as ive also removed the sound deadning from the bonnet

my standard engine does that boosts to 13 then drops to 10

Thats weird, when mine was standard it only peaked at 10psi.
It was definately a different car once it was mapped, i suppose its a good thing having more power with lower boost

I did have a boost leak, it was the pipe that goes to the turbo, it wasnt clamped tight enough, it doesnt sound as weezy now

stage 1 boost is very low at 13 you should be hitting 18+ generally,

any pictures of your install & tip/n75? i think theres a leak somewhere

Ive just checked the pipework around the n75 valve, its the original one, i done a search on them and people say theres an adjustment screw on the valve, theres just a hole there on mine, could it be the n75 valve? It boosts and holds boost fine, when i first got the car,it only boosted to 10psi, after i had it remapped it boosts to 13psi, so i naturally thought they were 10psi standard, i did think it was very slow

I did wonder when you mentioned they seem slow! , there no slouch in standard really but a map should be a different league.

It's a difficult one, don't go playing with the preload spring on the n75, it'll throw limp mode in most cases. I can't understand why its only peaking at 13, who mapped it ? They peak 11-12psi stock iirc

When i first bought the car, i took it to an unknown mapper in my area, he said there was something wrong with the ecu, kept coming up internal memory checksum control module error, so i posted my problem on another forum, had a message from a guy, he said he could reflash the ecu and put a generic stage 1 map on it,so i sent the ecu to him,got it back the next day, and it pulled so much harder than before i was well happy, and thats at 13psi.
Would my best bet be to buy a new n75 valve? Theres no adjusting screw there, its as if its rusted away in the hole

Mine boosts to 1.7 bar then down to 1.5. Has Revo stage1 with Toyo sport intercooler. Not sure if that's about right or not.
Was a arse to fit intercooler. Don't think the boost will increase with the intercooler, just be able to hold it better in hot weather or hard driving.
