I raised one ticket with Cupra. Got email confirmation and haven't hear anything back since couple of months ago. The probably closed the ticket without informing me. That was about petrol prices functionality.

Good call.
Have you had a chance to use it with the speed detection off? I wonder if this would confirm the theory...
What do you mean speed detection off? Switch off reading speed limit signs? If it's possible to switch it off, I can test it tonight, but there's probably no issues on M25. Would have to drive somewhere else to test it.

Check your junk mail, their reply went in there and it was only by chance I saw it there.

It's possible to turn the proactive speed detection off, as well as the response to road layout too. You can adjust it in the Assist settings on the Infotainment system, it's p 248 and 89 in the manual.

I have proactive speed detection off. I wouldn't want for a car to detect wrong sign and suddenly brake. I thought you mean switching off Road signs detection system, but manual doesn't mention switching it off. It's always there.

I dont think the car applies the brakes based on road side speed limit detection.

I'm not sure exactly what it does. Manual is very convoluted. Just read it. A lot of adjusting is mentioned. If it adjusts set up speed in ACC, then it must slow down. If it's just warning, that's another thing popping up on the dash and distracting from the road.

Yes it definitely does if you have it on with ACC.

It will adjust speed to the road signs and also slow the car for bends, approaching roundabouts etc. Going back to the issue with slowing the car down when overtaking, I suppose this doesn't technically turn the camera off so probably will still detect speed signs. Just wondered if it's worth switching off to see? I'm not making such trips at the moment to experiment, not until the next bank hol anyway.

I went on the short run of M25 and the area. On outward journey, ACC behaved as expected, discovering cars on the right. On a way back, it discovered cars on the left, even though speed limit was correctly recognised at 70mph. So for 10 miles, I had to nudge the pedal, to avoid slowing down every time I passed cars on my left.

i switched on and off Travel Assist, it didn't change anything and also completely switched off ACC and engaged it again, but no change.

Great stuff, thanks for checking. Shame the kmh theory isn't the reason, it does seem odd that the problem is inconsistent. May be down to a programming error 🤷‍♂️

I will check car's behaviour on the same stretch of M25 again. Just not sure when it's going to happen. I drove on it on Sunday, but weather was poor, low traffic and I was keeping to the left, so didn't overtake anyone.

My car is currently back at the dealership for them to investigate the issues with the incorrect speed signs and ACC behaving like a LHD vehicle.

I took a technician out for a test drive a couple of weeks ago and they filmed the car doing it and I believe this was sent off to Cupra. Cupra HQ wanted the vehicle to go back in and I believe the issue has now been escalated to the factory in Barcelona.

I don’t know if they will be able to fix these issues as they seem to be a massive oversight on RHD vehicles. Did Cupra not test the RHD version prior to production?

Good to have it logged with them directly, I hope you get a sensible response. In my opinion there’s no point in them escalating to the factory (implying it’s build error) - something like this is so obviously a software issue it needs to be seen by the design engineers responsible for the software (is this only happening on Cupra vehicles because you’d expect the same software is shared with latest VW MQB platform).

My understanding is it is affecting all VAG vehicles!

I believe the Cupra HQ in Barcelona are involved. I agree it appears to be a software related issue which should be easy to fix once they identify the bugs!

I know I’m not the only Formentor owner with this issue as a few of us currently have our vehicles at dealerships across the UK and are having regular contact from the Cupra UK Executive Management Team. I’m expecting another call from them today with an update!

I can tell you with absolute certainty, Golf 8 and Octavia mk4 suffering the same AND more. All software and infotainment related. Mechanically the cars are sound.

Yes, my thanks too JonnyT. Simply couldn't face going to the dealer for this, a faff for me living in an area with parking permits and potentially having a courtesy car without one 😖

I have the facelift ateca and it’s the same, reads the slower cars on the left. Drives me nuts. Glad it’s a known issue

Anyone experiencing Intermittent problems with there touch locking door handle? I find on my car I never know when it will work or not! It will lock and unlock the car with the key fob every time, but now and again when I try to lock with touching the handle it wont lock, the same when trying to unlock by touching the inside of the handle, it will always work with the fob, and I have tried holding the key in one hand when this happens, and touching the door handle point, but just the same happens, so it's not that the key is hidden.
Not a big problem as long as it works with the key fob. Will mention when it goes in for its first service. But just wondered if I was the only one with this intermittent fault?
I have the same issue.. it annoys me a lot.. did you have any luck finding a solution?
