Lane Departure Cam realignment after windscreen replacement

Hey,

2000 miles on the Cupra, and I have a big crack in the windscreen - didn't notice it until recently, as it's behind the rear view mirror.

I've ordered the replacement through insurance, and they flagged up that the lane departure camera will need realigning after the replacement. A subsequent call changed that from 'will need realigning' to 'may need realigning'.

I called my dealer just to check, and they said they'd not done it before, but it'd need booking in if it were required.

Just wondering if anyone has had a windscreen replacement on a car with the lane departure camera installed, and whether it needed tweaking afterwards...

Being as the screen can only go in at the set position, I would think the cam should be already right, how do you adjust that built into the glass.

Hi,

Broke my windscreen after 500 miles, the windscreen people swapped it out without bother, Mine included the plastic housing for the cam thing - good job as the bloke fitting it broke it trying to get it off.
Mine needed no re-calibration and has been working fine ever since
