Morning Damian,

I'm toying with the idea of upgrading suspension on my LCR, mainly as I'm fed up of the crashy ride the stock setup gives on the horrendous roads the councils seem to deem acceptable. I do like to give her a good thrash around the odd country lane from time to time so want something that will improve handling as well. Lowering is probably at the bottom of the priority list - I wouldn't mind a small drop but not after coilovers/sitting on the floor look.

From the reading I've done it looks like the Weitec Kit is the best option for a balance of comfort and performance? Is that about right?

I've also seen the AP set Here, is this kit any good? As the cheaper price tag is certainly appealing... Could you do anything on the prices of either kit to help me decide? ;)

In my opinion the Weitec by KW 50mm/40mm kit is by far one of the best options for the LCR. If you wanted something a little cheaper and also with less of a drop then the AP kit which is also made by KW is a very good option.

Yes I'm sure we could do something for you, when are you wanting to order and how would you be paying?

Great thanks Damian,

What's the difference in handling + ride quality between the two in your opinion? Can pay card/paypal, Presume card would be better for you to avoid paypal fees? Not sure on when, need to have a look at funds etc first... I think my top mounts are shot so want to get these changed, thinking I might as well do suspension while I've got it in bits... Do you supply topmounts too?

The Weitec kit will give a slightly more refined ride with a better build quality.

We do yes, the Polybush ones are £38.10 and the Powerflex ones are £47.50.

We could do the AP kit for £276.45 and the Weitec by KW for £404.70.

Great thanks, are those prices for a pair of top mounts or individual? Also do the shocks come fitted to the springs or separate?

Hi Damian and sorry leon cupra r for hijacking your thread.

I'm a little way off replacing the dampers and spring on my car but it's getting close to needing to be done. I've read the thread in the MK1 section and it got me thinking coilovers or dampers and springs again!!!
I think I want to go for Bilstein but can't decide between the B12 or B14's. Price wise they are simalar but what are the diferances between them performance and ride wise? The perfect stance is not that big a deal to me but handling and compliance is! I know I've been pontificating over this for a while know but it's such a big out lay and a very subjective subject.

Would the AP setup still be more refined and less crashy than stock? Also are the 50/40 Weitecs much stiffer than the 40/40s to allow for the extra drop?

Hi Damian, how much can you do the B14's for? I'm also after the rear axcel poly bush kit.
