2 years ago i leased a 68 Plate Cupra 290 hatchback, it was a bargain, £226 a month inc maintenance, I Love it, Sad thing is its going back,

Ive test driven the Cupra ST ABT 4wd, The one with the copper detailing, im thinking of switching to 4wd now and bigger car because of kids etc.

Anyhow, im debating if i get such a car, i would really like to give it a proper power hike to 400+ BHP.

Where would i take it to in the northwest to get it done, thats reputable and trustworthy?

Ive been out of the tuning game since the Saxo VTS years, so much has changed.

If you’re going to remap it, probably best not to get an Abt version as you’re just replacing one remap with another. For 400+ BHP, you’re looking at a stage 2 tune so APR will be out so you could try a Revo map. That aside, you could also try Unicorn in Stockport. I’m on the Golf R forum and they’re highly regarded on there. They don’t list SEATs on their site but there’s very little difference between the Leon wagon and Golf wagon.

Unicorn are the ones to go to.
They are very very well respected and recommend on the Cupra Facebook group

I thought that many or most big international tuning houses were walking away from offering Stage 2 remapping - only for emissions reasons, though I'd think that smaller tuning houses would still offer their own versions.

Only APR at the moment mate. Revo, MRC and others are carrying on as usual. The emissions thing is only because of America and APR, or Audi Performance Racing to give them their full name, are American.

Thanks for the help guys, I do fancy a white Cupra ST ivr seen, no mention of it having the ABT Remap though, nor is there a badge on back saying ABT.

But if its gone come end of january, then its gone, just may get a standard 4wd cupra estate.

If you’re going for 400hp, you’ll need to get a downpipe with GPF delete. That’s if the model year is 2019 or newer. 2018 and older don’t have the GPF.
There’s no revo tune beyond stage 1 for GPF models.
