I am thinking of completing the first service myself (don't want to give it to the dealer), I want to know if anyone else has also serviced their Cupra. If so what replacement oil filter did you get?
I've seen a K&N oil filter but not sure if it's a direct replacement.
Also any other bits replaced during first service?

I've done around 9k

Thanks

All brand filters are almostly the same, get what you want. original part number is 06L 115 562 , there are many analogs:
MANN-FILTER HU 6002 Z
Fram CH11498
Bosch F 026 407 174
Mahle Origin OX 835 D
Kolbenschmidt 50 014 598

Tryed many of them and saw no difference. In our country it's allowed to buy service parts/oil by yourself, much cheaper then in dealer's store, and only pay dealer for service work to save warranty.

The two years remaining warranty on your Cupra is extremely valuable - don't lose it!

If you really want to lose your warranty just to save £150 on an oil change then at least get an OE filter and some decent oil, they aren't expensive. On the other hand the K&N filter is just a cheap filter cashing in on the K&N name.

I bought engine oil and take it with me on first service.they gave oil filter and some bits.
But he reminded me.if i bring the oil, waranty stays, but if something is wrong with engine, they will inspect oil first!
Nothing to worry, oil is same that they give it.just i got it cheaper, than they would sell me :)

I think that it's fine to have to have your car serviced where and by whom you want, but oe parts need to be used to maintain warranty, I know when at work we service a non franchise car that is in warranty, we get the parts from the appropriate dealer. Might be an idea to read the service conditions in the service/handbook.

I had my first service done at a Seat specialist garage, it was half the price of the dealers and I was given a receipt with all the part numbers on it as proof of OEM parts being used, meaning the warranty is not void.

Im sure the warranty states it must be serviced by a VAT registered garage (so no back street cowboys) and SEAT parts used (receipt kept) and the service book stamped by the garage. Not sure about doing it your self untill the warranty expires, plus not going to a SEAT garage means no goodwill repairs after the car is over 3 years old.

Thanks, I'll have a look for a seat approved/specialist in my area and be sure to use oem parts
