Leon FR - 'Leon' De-badge - Thoughts?

i have a black FL Cupra with "Cupra" on the back and also on the front bumper. i wanted these taken of before i got the car, but now i gotta do it myself, im not sure if i want to. What do you guys think?i just didn't want it stating to every thug and thief that this is the fast one.

if you're gonna remove the leon might as well remove the fr

i chose to leave the badges on as i think they look good as standard

speaking of badges.. the other day I saw an ibiza with BOTH the cupra and fr badges on. wtf is that about?

Right I've tried t-cut & auto glym paint renovator with a buffer and I can still see the Leon letters in the paint slightly :-(

Any ideas please?

Black badge/body coloured badge/or no badge. Chrome badges looks **** on any colour exept black or silver then its still dosent look as good as blacked/body colour. It looks much more special. To the OP, get that S badge sorted! NOW!

On my FR i removed the LEON and FR badge and replaced then with a TDI badge


On my Cupra R im going to remove the Cupra badge

When I did it on my old Punto, I gave it a good rub with meths, but not too hard. Then T-cut it (perseverance is key), then SRP, and wax

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, totally confused now!! I've got a cupra k1, was thinking of removing the " C U P R A " badge and replacing it onto the front bumper, I've seen it done on others |I'm sure??? Anone got any photo's of this??

The bluish debadged fr looks mint by the way!!!!!

And NO you CANNOT put an "R" badge onto an FR, be proud of what you've got I say, FR's are nice and besides, anyone who knows anything about c ars will just take one look and think "bollocks" he's trying to make it look like something it aint"

The Cupra lettering on the front bumper? On the passenger side of the number plate? That's standard isn't it? I've got that on mine, want me to take a pic for ya?

Cheers for that!! No it's not standard on the K1, looks smart thou I think, I was going to buy a seperate one for the front and keep the back one but this thread has been good at making me change my mind to get it off and this way I can use it on the front!! Happy days, cheers!!!!

I may be wrong but I think it's only standard on FL models.

Finally got around to debadging the leon off the boot . Looks smoother and alot easier to clean

Hi,

Yesterday I de-badged the 'LEON' part from the rear of my Chrono Yellow FR. I know this is not to everyone's taste but personally I think it rounds the back of the car off nicely and makes it look a bit less bitty.

The reason for this thread is to get other people's opinions as to whether they prefer it with or without as I they can be replaced. So far I prefer it though

For anybody interested it is done very easily with a bit of hot water poured over the letters to soften the adhesive then I found the best way was to use some fishing line to drag down the back of them... anything left over can be taken off with tar remover

Anyone with a black leon(fr) done the rear seat boot badge and leon letters black was thinking matt black? looking to maybe try this but would like to see any pics first what do you guys think yeh or nay?
