Hi would I be fine to get the climate control unit like this and buy the Dacia surround seperately?

http://i.imgur.com/yagR2.jpg

How much would the surround cost?

Hi mate, yes this is possible. You connect the unit to the fascia with screws that go trough the white 'washers' on the bottom of your pic.

Fascia/surround is alittle expensive though, because there are is also a flap/ventilator control-lever in the top part. I remember it being around 100/110 Euro, i guess 85/95 GBP.

Good luck!

Yes mate.. i had to change one wire and gonna help you out right now ;)

I wrote this down in a document:

I red somewhere that you had a 56 plate car.. so you might have to change all 3 wires but i should try my luck first on only first one. That worked for me!
Your climate control is on off every time you start up the car because the pin 16 is a memory current to keep the settings on the climate control unit.

Good luck!

Hi I can't see a wire in pin 16? However I have the harness that came with the facelift unit. Will this harness be different? I have not checked mine yet. Also I have a 57 plate car so I'm guessing I don't have to change block b and c?

Anybody know how to adjust the brightness on the
Climatronic unit? The facelift climate unit doesn't illuminate as bright as it should in prefacelift cars

After some quiet months finally a look towards the summer :)
I have to get used to them though, I had black/antracite wheels on my cars for the last 4 years. Anyway, a darker colour definitely matches the black parts of the car better so it will be a matter of time... :funk:

Potenza 19"

Hoi Joost,

Take a quick look on my Potenza 19" rims under my pictures. Powder coated in titanium grey: color code 8AU (Audi rs4). Could be an alternative...

Hi there,

Nice to see some other foreign members here as well! [B)]
I was actually wondering how the RS4 alloy colour would look on the Potenza rim, looks pretty good to me :D

It is a colour I have in mind because it combines the 2 attrictive points of the Cupra Setup, which are huge 345mm discs and caliper (thats 1..) and with this color the rims also stand out (2).
Gloss black is nice but imo it masks the brake setup and wheel combo a bit to much.

Thanks for posting!

Looking tasty! Good job on the climate control mod

Thanks mate! Transfers the interior to a nicer level with the RNS I think. Its still not a luxery premium brand interior but get's close to other hot hatches trim level. You have to live with the big bits of plastic though. I can handle it hehe..

Hi Joost,

For me the titanium grey color was the option to go, since it combines the sporty look and will also stand out more compared to the black rims. My other input is also since it's titanium grey, the tire will more highlighted. With black rims the tire and rim will more or less merge, if you look from a distance. However I do want to point out that black is really great on certain colors, but was not the way to go for me personally.
I hope the picture could give you an idea.
Unfortunaly I have to wait at least two months before they will be on the car.
Meanwhile I will perform the stage 1 or 2 with BSR tuning chip (made the mapping for koenigsegg...is in my home town) or go for the VTECH 322 HP map :funk:

Totally agree :) I had gloss black 18'' Orions before these and from a distance it's just black, they cover the calipers to much aswell.

Do the BSR guys also have something to do with this clip or do you reconise the software guy?

Hi,
Just an update.
I will go for the BSR mapping with 310 hp and 400 Nm in torque.
BSR is a major tuner and also located in my home town.

The mapping will be made tomorrow :D

Good man! Also get a proper air intake and 1 degree colder plugs and you will love your stage 1 Cupra, picks up really well and goes untill redline :) I got a custom stage 1 map running 324 bhp and 430 Nm.

Picked up my 19'' wheels again :).

Had my wheels coated in ''blackgrey'' (RAL color) with silver flakes in them. Got to say this being the 3rd set I refurb the guy did a great job. The finish is really smooth for powdercoated alloys.

Looks really good. I have to say that i actualy like the silver finish but the grey seems to really suit the yellow of the car :)
