locking beep

Hi my Leon used to beep on locking or unlocking if set. Does anyone know how to do this with Vag-com on the Bocanegra?

Being too stingy to fork out £200 for a second remote key I occasionally use the standard metal key. On the ST you get about 30 seconds after unlocking to turn on the ignition otherwise the alarm sounds. Very often when I turn on the ignition I get a Beep as the alarm and immobiliser are disabled. It's possible this happens because the system has the facility to Beep when locking and unlocking with the remote but it has not been enabled on the Ibizas. Someone with access to VAG-Com should be able to confirm whether it can be enabled (or if mine is just a bit odd).

Personally I don't mind it not beeping. I would prefer the mirrors to fold automatically on locking but it can't be done.

i know the mk4 had an option in vagcom to enable the audio chirp for locking and unlocking

dont know the ins and outs of it but i once asked a seat dealer if they could enable it about this for me
they told me its swiched off by default off on UK models for Legal reasons.

I also would like the alarm to chirp when locking unlocking so any information appreciated.

I've turned on the beep on a lot of VAGS - not found one that doesnt have it.
Golf mk4, mk5
Leon mk1, mk2
Skoda's
A3's
Touran's
...
So I expect its in there.

id like my car to do it too fingers crossed someone knows, ill ask the person doing my remap to see if he can find out as he knows a lot of people who use vagcom and vcds

I guarantee it can be done - just finding someone with VCDS/VAGCOM to enable it. Your a bit too far from me

Ive got VAG COM and used it to turn off my conering fog lights etc, there isnt any obvious option anywhere. I willing to give something a go if somebody can find out what needs changing were etc

i think its EU law that new cars do not beep when locked / unlocked to reduce the nuisance of cars beeping.

The leon was the same in that it was set by default to having no beeps.

I would be amazed that you cant do the same with the boc.

yeah that would be no problem, i would try it but i cant cause my car is i getting a remap and custom exhaust i dont have it till thursday

Its in the long coding helper of 46 control module on the newer versions of VCDS - just tick the right box and save it back. Together with other things like auto locking, unlocking, indicator blinking etc.
