Hi

I have recently acquired a Ibiza Seat Cupra

It has:

k03s turbo,
Bailey DV30 Recirc valve,
Full scorpion exhaust including sports cat,
Stage 2 Remap,
CAI

Basically I have a few queries

1) I get a louder/more fluttery dv sound when I let off the throttle when the engine is cold or it is a cold day... not sure why this any ideas? I have pulled out the diverter valve and tested the piston and vacuum and all appears to be ok.. I do have a cai and wondered if this would contribute to such noises due to air density changes?

2) I have had problems with it 'stuttering' when coming on full boost (19PSI), I first rectified this by replaced the spark plugs.. this seemed to work for a day or two but then the issue came back... all be it in a minor fashion.. To totally get rid of it I re gapped the spark plugs to 0.25.. now it has only occurred once. However I have three codes when pluggin in my scanner ..

- Low signal from maf
- No signal for B1:S1 Lambda

Now I know these do not seem heathly and probably contribute to point 2 which also could be that the car is running lean, however I want to know could the Stage 2 map ignore the lambda sensor and possibily even the maf (probably not though surely) I believe it has had a p-toque stage 2 map.. anyone have any ideas on this one?

3) My passengers side wing mirror is much smaller than my drivers side.. normal?

Thanks muchly!

10p to all those whom answer and leave said paypal details :)

I got a baileys recirc dv on my other mk3 and its fine. My old yellow cupra's standard dv used to flutter on lift never thought much of it kinda liked the sound lol. You got an open cone?

Cheers fellas

Yeah could be spring related... weaker at higher temperatures...

How would you like your 10ps shipped?

Stage 2 map won't bypass the lambda or maf. Certain stage 2 maps ignore the emission readings from the rear lambda but doesn't ignore the rest of the data. Would replace the mac 1st then the lambda

Id change the dv for a forge item and see if that fixes the fluttering. probz want a stiffer spring (yellow forge 1)

2nd 1 probs be a ignition coil breaking down or airmass meter at fault

id have the plug gapsorted 2

Yeh, run the appropriate plug and gap for the power bracket your in and replace all 4 coils and the maf.
If they're old chances are they're breaking down now..the improvement your seeing from a tiny plug gap points to failing coil packs too.

I had the same stutter a few years back. Fixed it a little by changing the plugs and coils and gone completely by changing the MAF.

I also recently had a peak psi of 19 when running a turbo smart dual port DV, I have bought a new 008 forge DV and its now much smother and 21 psi peak..

Great, going to PM you now.

Thanks for the advice.

Replaced the MAF with a £22 part from GSF and now the traction control light is off and I haven't had the stuttering since. However before I changed the plugs I unplugged the maf and it made no difference so the MAF may be part of the cause but was/is not the main reason for the stuttering.

Surprised as the MAF I had in previously was a bosch.. I cleaned it etc as per these forums and it made no difference. Also got my hands on an ebay job and that also didn't work.. surprised that the GSF MAF is working so well.

I feel stupid for asking this but
how do I PM on these forums?
Cannot see any obvious options?

Your best off using a genuine maf, they are expensive but the cheap ones I've heard of people needing 5before getting one that works!
