So went out in the car today after a long trip yesterday (4 hours driving) and the rear passenger side light looks like its got sooo hot its started to melt.

can see where the vaccum has sucked it in and its touching the light now

no idea never changed them had the car 3 years and would probably say standard original maybe??

only thing i done to them and that was years ago was wrap them in tint

baffled

think its worth getting the auto electrician out to voltage test. i checked all the lights and everything is working

If the voltage was too high the bulb would probably burn out. You sure nobody has kicked it or hit it whilst parking?

Surely it would crack though if someone had hit it?

Definitely looks like its gotten really hot for some reason, worth getting an electrical test done to make sure everything is ok

are there lower wattage bulbs you n put it?? LED etc that run cooler for future?

ill get Dave to send me a new rear and order some more tinting film but i will need to get the electrics checked

only things that have changed recently.

Service
APR Remaped again with Switchable mapping

after a closer check i am 99% sure its not flames or heat from exhaust as i have the diffuser that covers a lot of the tip and the light next to it is closer and fine so its definitely happened from the light internals

what i am wondering thought that is the corner that i recently had a little argument with the wall (all repaired and no big issue but i wonder if that had pushed the light in a little when it was hot the and cooling has caused a vacum effect??? im plucking at straws here. lol

defo want to replace all teh rear bulbs for Cooler LED if some one knows which to get ill get them ordered and hope it doesnt happen again

only time I've seen this before was when an engineer at last place left his car in reverse (engine off) to illuminate a work area and it melted lens as it was on for ages.

Could you have parked near to something hot, a hot air vent from some kind of machinery maybe?
