I was having a problem with my drivers side headlight misting up for no apparant reason ie not been raining or anything!

So I bought a new one which seemed fine for about a week then, once we had those mad down pours it decided to mist up, in fact to a worse extent that the old headlight!!

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

I was thinkin drill some tiny holes in the bottom of the light to try to clear i?

I have this problem aswell! annoying isnt it!

i was told to put them into the oven and warm them to break the seal, then reseal them.
havent had the guts to try it yet though, dont want to have to fork out for a new headlight because i cooked this one!

lol I wouldnt pal!

My dad is a boat builder so i may try and seal it with the stuff they glue boats 2gether with!

Well a new light is about £90+!

Its fine when your driving as obv the air clears it abit its when u park up! But I cant really be bothered to take the bumper off again to clear the headlight

Try putting a little bag of Silica gel in there somewhere, that stuff should hold all the moisture.

Same put one of those little bags you get with trainers in the back that should take it all out!

It could be that the plastic cover that clips on the back of the light, isnt clipped on properly, or there isnt a seal there!

Drilling holes will only give moisture more ways of getting in!

The silica bag's should be ok to clear the moisturem then see if it reoccurs!

I had the same problem with mine when i 1st got the car. Whipped the headlight out, dried it with a hair dryer and left it in the airing cupboard over night, stuffed one of them little bags of gel in there and re-fitted, making sure that ALL conections to the light (ie wires/bulbs etc) were all sealed tightly and had no air leaks. Never had a problem since and that was circa 6 months ago now :)

I had this Problem an cured it by doing wot "Forbez" said!
Make sure the cover is on tight, if u take the plastic cover off an inside the plastic cover is rubber. Swop the Left headlight cover with the right cover rubber thingy (they just pull out easy) An put the covers back, this has seem to cure my problem of misting.

The rubber thingys are wot create the sill, an when they look like there on proper somethimes they are not so air gets in. When u take the rubbers out you'll see there indented abit, by swopping them round the rubber will be flat again and then once on will create a tighter sill.

Just make sure you put them back on properly!

Its hard to explain but once you have a look you'll see.

It might take a few bags depending on how much moisture is in there, they will only hold so much water.

Put the bags in the oven to dry them out first. If they were in a box with trainers they may be used up already.

It may take a little while too!

Same for condensation inside a car, put an open pot of salt in the car over night, for a few nights in a row, maybe swapping the salt each night, and hey presto, no more steaming up!
