Mk1 leon 1.9tdi gearbox noise

Hi all
So in 5th gear mainly it sounds like the gearbox is making a noise when i take my foot of the throttle, i can inly describe the sound like when a push bike tyre rubs against the frame. All other gears are fine tho, i did i fluid change last night and the oil was black. I put some gearbox treatment in aswell. I am guessing the 5th gear in the box is on its way out?
Clutch and flywheel was done last year aswell

Have you tried the shim mod?
Have a search on here. Its there somewhere.
Its done with the box in situ.
You take a big round cap off the end of the box and fit a shim. It reduces sideways movement in one of the shafts, (sometimes) greatly reducing noise on over run.
Easy to do yourself if handy with the spanners.
