Mk3 leon sat nav

Hi all

I have just picked up my new mk3 fr tdi with the tech pack on. When I try to input a post code into the town icon on the sat nav it won't accept any post codes. Just wondering if any body else has this annoying problem. In the manual it says it should accept them. The dealer assured me it would. I took it down to prove it wouldn't. I tried the test fr and that was the same. They said they would chase the problem up. Love the car tho that's the only negative I have. My old 57 fr tdi will take some beating but it might just do it !!!

Cheers Rik

I've got the sat nav and to enter postcodes you select the town name and at the bottom of the keyboard entry screen it has a "PtCd" button. It then displays a different screen for post code entry - which works on mine.

Hope you get it sorted.

Just like to say a big thanks Wigan lad. I can't believe I didn't see the button on the key board. The nav instruction book wasn't the clearest and my dealer didn't know either.

How r u liking the new leon. My old leon was a 170 tdi fr loved it to bits I hope this one will be as good I went for black with titanium pack on !!

Cheers

Hi sweet fr

I've just had a quick look in the navi system owners manual and it doesn't mention anything about longitude and latitude co-ordinate inputs. The only inputs are country town/ post code then street. You can search on points of intrest as wellnn

The sat navs not as good as the Tom toms but its not too bad. It warns u of delays rd works etc and plans alliterative routes. There's a 3 d and 2 d view. It's worth getting if the tech pack offers on. The led lights look amazing the dab radio is v good never cut yet.

Hope this helps

Cheers

+1 to this! I also failed to spot where you could enter post codes into the satnav!

Hi Rik

Thanks for that. A little disappointed about it. Longitude and latitude comes in handy when looking for campsites in France. Still holding out for the 184

No worries - had the same concerns myself and someone cleared it up for me. I LOVE this car! Great all rounder, handling, torque, quality. I could go on though I'm sure you already know

Does anyone know if it is possible to put in map co-ordinates (longitude and latitude) which I can with my Tomtom.

Hey SweetFR, I'm 99.9% sure that I can enter co-ordinates on mine. I'll have a look when I'm back in the car at lunch time and let you know!

Hi Madduffyx

Thanks for answering and taking the time to post pics but I asked that question nearly seven months ago and have had my car about 6 months now. So I know that the sat nav does map co ordinates and used it while touring France in September. But thanks all the same.

I would be interested if anyone has had any sat nav updates yet.

SweetFR may not have this feature
Depends on if you have the latter software/map card, see thread (4365)
I got my car early last year, same as SweetFR and can't get the lon/lat feature :-(

Has been talk that we get three years worth of free map updates, but don't no if anyone has had that confirmed

Vw and Skoda owners do, so would be nice if Seat owners do too, especially as most people who have the first release of the map card and the missing features had to pay for the tech pack with 5.7 " sat nav

I still think its a shame you can't use Post Code and house/building number like you can on 90% of new sat navs and if you want the route to go to the exact location you neet the exact address or the lat/long.

Does anyone know how to delete an individual stored Destination or Favourite in the Navigation System? I have checked the system and the user manual and it looks as if the only "delete" options are for deleting all stored Destinations or deleting all Favourites or Last Destinations - This is really annoying, as it seems there is no way of maintaining or correcting stored destinations. I have the latest navigation software, version 0034 ECE 2013/14.
