"fold seats down remove parcel shelf from car
the bit thats actually causing the problem is not the lock itself but the mechanism between the handle and the lock
to get at it you need to remove the plastic panel which covers the boot lid
remove the two screws which are hidden inside the handles
gently pull at the top where the rear wash wiper is mounted you should be able to look directly down and see a small metal rod
pull this and the boot will open
remove rest of trim which is just plain and simply on plastic clips
now the reason why the mechanism keeps sticking is because its drying out
it needs lubricant
there is a special white grease which can be applied liberally
or give it a few blasts with some duck oil
and leave it to soak in
check that mechanism is now working
replace parts in order #
