cheers guys, a little update:

done the charging side of it and almost finished the glovebox install, only problem so far is that the HU is deeper than the CD changer so fouls on the fan casing for the AC so it sticks out atm until I can find a solution.

Heres the pics anyway:

the new cigaret lighter:

just needs painting, I wanted the USB on the front so I could unplug the Nexus and plug it into my laptop if necissary and I can also use the USB to charge up an Ipad along with the USB on the HU and the spare Aux.

All in all very very happy with the install!!

Now for a couple of dirty pics!

hi guys,

well ive been a bit busy recently, first of all my passenger window regulator broke, so bought a new one and fitted it....

That one broke as it looks like the motor top and bottom limits have gone so I bought a complete new door from a 2003 toledo and salvaged the workings out of that (much better made and far more sturdy) however I have had to make sure that I dont wind the window up or down otherwise it will chew through another mechanism....

Whilst I was picking up the new door for £60 i noticed that the car the guy was breaking had the sport spoiler and an intaced light bar (mine was cracked and leaking) so I had that off him for £30 too :)

It still needs painting obviously but i think it sets the rear off very nicely!

I also had the chance to go to Bruntingthorpe proving ground with our Formula Student team for a test day and I couldnt resist taking some photos, just a shame that it wasnt clean but there was no way that I was going to clean it there as it was -5C

Wow, loving your work, hoping to get a W reg Tolly tomorrow but it's only a S 20V version.

Love that Nexus installation. Would love to have that fitted. What could you do about security with it though as someone walking past that would surely nab it, if they wanted to?

well its no different to having a standard HU or even a £800 HU, if someone wants it they will get it, I have a sensitive alarm and to look at it doesnt look like a tablet, it looks like a fully integrated HU so people wont bother hopefully, and its still covered under my up to £1000 stereo cover on my insurance :)

20V is far more tuneable, one thing I have found with the V5s is there is no power to be had without major internal engine work and even then theres not much in it.

My Tolly - New Wheels!

Well I needed new tyres on my Toyota rims which was going to cost £250-£300 for a complete set so I thought why not do what I did last time and just buy a new set of wheels with almost new tyres so I started trawling the bay and came across a set of Audi S2 Ronal Boleros with almost new tyres (7mm tread) with a starting price of £200 so I watched them and they ended with no bids :) so I emailed the guy and offered him £180 for them and he accepted :). So I got a set of Green (matches my stickers and my engine bay) Audi Ronals with nearly new tyres, 20mm FK adapters all delivered for £220 :)

I fitted them at work on saturday, was a bit worried about whether they would fit under the rear arches but luckily they do :) I think I will roll the rear arches just for piece of mind but the tyre profile is a bit smaller than the Toyota rims so ive lost a bit more ground clearance and the mudflaps and rear bumper now scrape on bumps in the road and cats eyes :) and im left with about 20mm ground clearance underneath :)

anyway heres the pictures :)

Fair play to you for going for something different fella, but...I must say I do prefer the old rims much more :(

Sorry, and as always, if you like them more that's all that matters.

Interesting progress as usual :)

Cheers

Yeah I love the look of them, I found the Toyota wheels to be a bit chunky, they had oversized tyres on them so wasn't quite happy with them, although they will be on eBay soon so keep your eyes peeled if anyone fancies them :)

Awesome so close! Is it a v5 too?

Yep, v5

Only issue I have is it's cream leather and the dash looks so gash cos of it

Edit: Just realised you have the same dash style. Not to my personal taste, can it easily be changed to black?

Personally I like it, i dont particularly like black interiors but i believe Matt-V5-Duffy has done a bit of a how to change the colour of the interior on his thread.

Just found it though and it is exactly the same spec as mine :) could be twin brothers lol

Nice Toledo although I would've run the black bootlid until the silver one was painted tbh.

What's the running costs of the 2.3 v5? I was looking at the 1.8 20V but insurance on the 2.3 is only £100 more but it's things like tax, petrol etc I'm concerned about.

well I pay £148 every 6 months tax but I think this is reasonable considering I do aprox 10-12000 miles every 6 months so I get that use out of the roads and petrol, I always fill up with super unleaded at either shell or tesco and I am currently averaging just under 30mpg with about an even amount of urban and extra urban driving. If im sat on a flat road doing 70 I can easily get over 50mpg out of it. On a long run down the M1 from birmingham I managed to average 39mpg. Although mine does desperately need 4 new coil packs, a new MAF and a good service im quite happy with it :)

My Mini averages about 18mpg around town and thats a 1l!

Personally I would recomend the V5 over the 1.8 purely because of the sound, plus the 1.8s arent that good on fuel anyway, my mate had a 1.8 turbo golf and that only averaged less than 25mpg!

Hope this helps :)

well ive only got a few updates,

had to raise the suspension as I kept getting stuck on cambered roads lol

before:

the damage:

and after:

Raised the rear to the max of the coilovers and the fronts wound up by about 40mm

although it still catches quite severely on speedbumps and any potholes lol.

tbh i dont really plan on doing anything else as I am hoping to upgrade soon to something newer so will probably be breaking it soonish :)

The Tolly ... Has Gone! (Pic Heavy)

Well it unfortunately I am no longer a Seat owner, Sorry Guys! :( although I hope you will approve of the replacement :)

Traded the Tolly in for this...

Its a Saab 93 Turbo X XWD, 2.8 Turbo V6 with Torque Vectoring 4wd and an eDiff.
its got sat nav, Bluetooth, voice commands, heated leather, full BOSE sound system with amplifier in the boot, dual zone climate control, auto levelling headlights, HIDs and cornering lights (headlights that turn with the steering).

It sounds amazing! pure ****! with the 280BHP engine with 400nm of torque going through the 6 speed 4wd gearbox it can certainly shift!

Hope you all like!

Let me know what you think!
