was out in my seat ibiza the other night and it started to missfire with the engine management light intermittently flashing. I have used the search facility on here and it is most likely to be my coil packs. Question is, do i change all the coil packs or just the one which is causing the problem? seems bit of a silly question but im just making sure.

depends how many are gone dont it!

u need vagcom really so you can find which one needs replacing, but you may find more than one does. its always handy to have a spare aswell

there are methods other than vagcom to identify which is gone if your sure it a coilpack, one is by removing them one by one and seeing if the car runs any worse, until you find the one that makes no difference

Bullshit, ive just racked up 15k miles on non seat packs. Ive only changed them because they cant hold a strong spark when running a big shot of nitrous.

ive gone for the OEM parts, just ordered 2 at the mo (hopefully will get a spare). Ive got a new lambda sensor on order aswell as my idle revs are sometimes a bit up and down.

Changed mine this weekend. From GSF (German, swedish and french) Car runs so much better now. Replaced all 4.They had same stamp as the original ones on there. Originals dated July 2003. So lasted a while.

i'll replace the other 2 soon aswell, i think its poor how they only last such a short time, was talking to a guy at the local motorfactors earlier and he was telling me how the AA, RAC etc actually carry these parts as they go all the time. oh well, apart from that the car is all good (fingers crossed).

You cant really get it wrong, you unplug the old one and plug the new one in.
