Well I'm sorry for doubting you mate and fair play having an lcr at your age. You will get plenty of attention from the ladies lol. I had a Fiat Uno 55 for my first car. I blew it up lol.

Welcome to the forum mate.

Haha cheers man, to be honest I'm still a little bewildered myself... It's one thing looking at the car and dreaming but another thing entirely actually getting it!

Don't do any tuning until the black box has been binned otherwise they might have a hissy fit lol

Yeah I'm struggling to drive slowly, especially 70 on the motorway! It seems like whatever speed I'm going the car just wants to go faster! And thanks for all the welcomes!

Yeah only three months, and if I drive well (Not gonna happen) I get money back! But it's hard sticking to speed limits and 'driving sensibly'

My company wanted to black box me at renewal time. I'm 24 with 5 years no claims all through them lol. I binned them off and went elsewhere. Mine is still just shy of £750 a year so you've done well pal

Yeah, I'm worried they're gonna ask me to do it next year too... Ahh well, see what happens! And yeah man, living in the country villages does have its pro's! I feel bad for the city boys, I know people who are still paying 2k for 1.0L's!

I may be wrong here, but my understanding of the black box was that they reassessed your premium at set intervals(3 months in this case). If ,from the data they have, they assess you to have driven "safely" they will lower your premium, but it goes the other way too. the black box stays in the car for the length of the insurance. another thing to consider is most black box policies will have terms and conditions in like if you drive at a % over the speed limit they can cancel your policy which you then have to declare making getting cheap insurance very difficult.

Thats what I thought. My little cosuins got one and they rung him up and told him that he was going round corners too fast.

IMO i think they're a con. how can reading telemetry decide if a car is being driven safely. It can reward people with lower premiums that are driving poorly ie lane hoggers that drive "smoothly". and people that pull out slowly causing people to take evasive action but because they dont accelerate "harshly" they get lower premiums.

it might be worth the OP double checking with their insurance their T+C regarding the black box
