Hi!

While I'm waiting for my new Leon to arrive (hopefully soon because it has been shiped from the factory), I'm looking for some 18" wheels. The (ugly) stock 17" FR rims will I use as winther wheels. But I'm not sure how wide the new 18" rims should be, 7.5" as the stock 17" rims or shall I go up to 8", any recommondations? I will propably buy some aftermarket rims and not any of the Seat rims, but do you know if the 18" Seat dark grey/silver wheels you see on almost all of dealers Leon FR demos cars are 7.5" or 8" wide?

VAG usually go narrow they will probably be something like ET52 7.5J 18”

that is a complete guess and i may be miles off.

you should look for rims around et45 8J 18”

Go to seat.com, choose your model exact and look at the SPEC tab and in there you will find any technical details including this.
Rims: 7.5Jx17 ET46 / 7.5Jx18 ET46 and these are the info but you check it also by yourself out.

I'm very sorry for the late response from me. I have not bought the rims yet, there are still time, I will not put the new rims on the car before spring. But I will limit my search for rims with the specs of both 7.5J ET46 and 8J ET45 and see what comes up. I think I will keep the tire width of 225, the will fitt both 7.5J and 8J. Thank you all for your answers.

I have not bought new wheels yet, but will do it now. I am looking at some 18" 8J, the dealer say they are ET39 and fits my car, it is what the manufactur of the wheels are saying. When I compare them with the original 17" 7.5J ET46 wheels I have now, I measure them to come 13,25 mm further out in each side, is that OK? I know it's legal, but it sounds pretty much I think. Anyone who have fitted 8J wheels with around ET39 on your car, and does it looks looks fine?
