No radio?

Hi, I have a 1998 ibiza 1.0 with a bee sting ariel, ever since i bought it the radio has never worked. it came with a cheap goodmans headunit in which there was no signal, i then bought a brand new Blaupunkt mp35 and when i installed it, i made sure the arieal lead (thick silver cable) was correctly inserted which it is - even still no signal.

However, i discovered another connector whilst installing the headunit, this was a weird 6 pin type of plug which the blaupaunkt headunit has connectios for (similar to a blaupunkt phono lead connector). Is this something to do with the arieal or am i right in thinking the bee sting standard seat arieal is only connected by the standard round arieal plug?

sorry about the essay,

cheers

What is this 6 pin type plug like?? If it is like a blue box type thing then that is nothing to do with the aerial.

The signal should be alright with a bee-sting aerial cos i have one and its fine. Are you sure the aerial wire is silver??

ye, the ariel wire is silver and is perfectly connected - do these ariels have a weak spot which causes a common failure or am i just unlucky.

Yes the 6 pin thing is a blue connector and my blaupunkt has a slot for it - what is it for?
