Oil Pickup. How can you tell if its blocked?

Is there anyway to find out if your oil pickup is blocked or clogging up without taking off the sump?

Your car sounds like a tractor .. I wouldnt even risk it just whip the sump off and get it changed if you've any doubts.. I got lucky and avoided any damage some how when mine blocked up and when i changed it it didnt even look that bad!

I wont be able to get the sump off for a couple of months and first I need to change the valve cover gasket and chain t gasket as ive got a small leak before the oil is changed! Just abit worried now as a m8 recently killed his because of this!
