I got my new 2020 (70 plate) Cupra 290 last Friday. Just today i drove it and noticed in sports when you give acceleration from 1-3rd gear and let go of the acceleration, its making some turbine noise. I can't tell if this is normal or not as I've not heard it before. Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

When you say in Sport do you mean Sport auto on DSG?

If so it will be holding the gear in high revs when you lift off.

Both auto sports or manual, both of them are doing it. I have booked a specialist for tomorrow (its free since its a 70 plate) and its next to my house.
Will update what happens or even if its an issue. I think with how loud it is it seems like an issue. Its like a overrun noise but not smooth just louder wheel turbine noise like high pitch to low gradually MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm

If it was making noise on the overrun it would be pops and bangs, not sure if the newer cars do that though.

When its happening though where are your revs at? To me it sounds like you are just lifting off at high revs and its dropping revs while you're coasting.

Doing the same in mine the gearbox whines in a pretty high pitch doing that.

The REVs were at like 4-4.5k and dropping I did let go of the accelerator at for example the third gear and then this happened and It was coasting (rolling on its own whilst dropping revs itself) I can hear it from the rear right side of the car however. I didnt notice this until just yesterday and i have been in Sports before yesterday.

Also the pops and bangs are actually pretty decent in my car haha, I dont even know how but it seems like it has a res delete on it already.. Pretty happy about that. Sometimes its pretty loud making me think oh damn it something wrong with the car lol. However to achieve these pops and bangs I do go manual otherwise you cant really hear much.

The fact you are in sports mode isn't going to be causing an issue like that though. Sports mode just idles higher and I think it kicks in the gears harder. In auto it holds the gears longer. Its also making a fake noise in your car.

Have you tried doing the same thing in just normal D mode but in manual?

I get a whiney noise when decelerating too in my 20 plate. Sounds like this might be the same, almost like an owl when letting off at lower road speed.

I noticed you posted on this thread: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/noise-when-decelerating.462675/

Are you sure that was your noise, you said that was normal? That sounds like a buzz/vibration more than anything.
