hi ive had the annoying passenger seat belt problem with my new fr ,booked it in to the dealers and they said they would investigate , i told them about the thread saying a new membrane is needed and to my suprise on going to pick it up they said that they would have to order a new membrane so all being well it should be rectified, it shows perhaps they do take notice of the info we get from this excellent site:lol:

Hi Guys,

I'm having this Passenger Seatbelt problem on my 06 Leon TDI sport (i.e. the seat belt alarm going off when no-one is sitting in the passenger seat)

I've taken it in to the Cardiff dealership, but when they plug their diagnostic computer in, it doesn't show a fault code. Unless they have a fault code, they don't get paid for the warranty work, so they won't do anything.

The problem is, it's intermittent so trying to repeat the problem at the exact time I'm at the dealers is proving impossible!

Anyone else having the same problem or could offer some advice?

Cheers,

Andy.

so you get a fault code registered if the rear boot lock breaks and jams shut then do ya ??

computer says noooo:lol:

something says they either didnt explain themselves properly or are talking crap

This happened to me this morning on the way to work. Pulled up, moved into the passenger seat, jumped around a bit, moved back to the drivers seat and carried on, figuring there was probably something not sitting quite right, and my weight would sort it out.

It worked for all of about 100m before the warning was back. Ended up pulling the seatbelt over and plugging it in, just to shut the alarm up. I'd be interested if anyone knows of an answer or fix that doesn't involve a stealer. It's a 56 reg petrol FR, if it matters.
