I would have imagined with a map and more of a eco right foot you should have got more unless you go all out for a full performance map.. When i mapped my old vrs i was getting slightly better mpg and a good bit more punch.

Il do more research in to what map i want closer to the time but 50/50 map bit of both hopefully.

Have you got map

Isn't a 50/50 map essentially what a stock map is? I mean in terms of delivering balanced performance?

I would have thought driven sensibly a torquey performance map should give better results as you are getting more return for less of the loud pedal.
Obviously its tough to drive a performance map sensibly, but I imagine an eco map will just give you underwhelming results and make you want to push the car harder which could equate to worse overall economy.

I usually get 490 to a tank in my PD140 on sainsburys fuel, thought I'd give VPower a go and I'm currently at 390 with 165 range left so ill report back my findings.

Normal around me is 118.9
VPower was 136.9

Will more than likely be more cost effective to get normal

Sort of, but a standard map is designed to meet marketing requirements, poor maintanance, varying climates and fuel economy and local tax and insurance implications. There are other reasons I'm sure.

An eco map would boost torque mildly and you would drive it accordingly, boosting mpg. A performance map boosts torque and power by more and, if driven sensibly, will do the same as an eco map.

If I'm being cynical, i'd say that an eco map is a marketing gimmick to lure in those who aren't interested in modifying cars, although if insurance companies get on board with the idea, it could be a useful compromise for some.

If you hypermile any car, you can get high mpg. On a standard car you will be going very slowly, on a mapped car you can hypermile easier and travel faster whilst doing so.
