Well... the time's booked off work :) all the bits I need (I think) are bought - and will just need to check the wiring loom out for engine / lighting parts (will remove the lighting)

I intend to change to an MS system very soon after confirming that it's running OK (for an engine laid up for as long as this one)

then a belt change (yes, easier to do on the pallet, but I want to be sure it's all the same)

The only thing I 'need' to do is my wheel bearings - very rumbley now up front. so high up the list!

Rear beam is cleaned, prepped with new wheel bearings etc for rear disc conv & of course the stiffer arb.

I intend to cross brace it - but will develop that on the original one at some point.

However - the CM race pads have taken their toll on the paint - the lower half of the doors are now sandpaper smooth and the wheels are permablack too

Good Friday until the following Monday is all booked off

But it won't take that long to fit the basic setup.

Has to pass MOT soon after, which the 1.6 can't manage (emissions are laughable)

Oh well

Finished work at 4.15 today, home at 4.30, slob clothes on & I think about draining the coolant and air con.

Instead the front end is off, the drive shafts are dangling, all the wiring is disconnected the pallet trolley is under the engine ready to catch it

All I need to do is cut the exhaust downpipe (way too rusty nuts to undo) - though the manifold came right off.

Should have the new engine lined up by tomorrow after a good washing of the engine bay - then hopefully Stu will be popping by on Saturday to help line it up on the mounts.

Wiring Sat/Sun, and should have it running by Monday

Pics when there's something interesting to look at!
