I want to change the power steering fluid on my 2002 1.9 tdi se. How do i drain the old fluid out? What spec of fluid do i put in and how much do i need? Am i corrrect in saying to bleed the system afterwards all that is required is turning the steering wheel a few times? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I would have said the easiest way to drain the system is undo one of the unions on the rack or low down in the system to let it drain out. The Autodata says it takes G 002 000 spec fluid, needing approx 0.7-0.9litres. Best way to bleed the system would be fill it, steer from lock to lock. Keep an eye on the fluid then when it no longer drops anymore, turn the engine over and check it again as you don't want the pump to run dry. Keep an eye on it for about a week and it should be ok.
