Power Steering Loss

I've done a search but not really found the same problem as mine. It appeared last night as I was pulling into my garage and I completely lost all assistance on the steering. Here's the funny part though, it only happens when turning left, turning to the right is still fully assisted at all times. Steering to the left is ok when on the move or at a few revs but 3 point turns/pulling into or out of my garage are near impossible. It just sounds like all the hydraulic pressure is being diverted back away from my steering wheel area. I'm dropping it at the dealer tonight but they have no courtesy car until the 16th!!!! Thats me in the girlfriends 1.1 Saxo for a while.

BTW ignore my Sig, it's now a 55 reg Leon FR TDi.

power steering not working

sounds like it could be the steering rack .had an astra in at work a few years ago with power assistance to the left but not to the right . it was internal seal problem had to replace rack with recon unit

Good call mate, Had SEAT on the phone today, they are going to replace the rack, I hope the next one lasts longer that 3000 miles though.
