Power upgrade - now 242hp

Well I did an upgrade to my car. Complete service inspection with timing belt change. The air intake was changed to a BMC CDA. Different camshaft was installed, bought from all4tdi.de. Don't not the specs right now.

We were working with 2 diferent chips, one previously with 221hp and the other with 236hp. See previous thread for reference.

The first to test was the 236hp one. It achieved 251hp with the new mods.
The other with 221hp achieved 240hp. A slightly change was made to the chip and finally 242hp was measure. Here is the graph.

This time I made improvements to handling, installing the last powerflex brushing that were missing.

The car went to the bodyshop to make some changes (besides changing the intake and camshafts)

here are some pics:

On the dyno:

the fuel temp was 47.7ºC max on the 251hp dyno (1.8bar boost)
the Intake air temperature was 43ºC max after the intercooler, measured with vag.com

Still with stock clutch, so the dyno doesn't show the right potencial in the 2000-3000rpms. At 3000rpms it is at WOT delivering maximum boost and fuel on this test.

MAF sensor reads 1479 at 3279rpms

yes, the same.

what turbo are you running?

I wish to know that too! the same "Miguel" guy doesn't want to tell me...

I will do some video soon so you can see the smoke.

I think there is no key modification, but many. The turbo and intercooler package are very important. But the race nozzles and 12mm are responsable for good improvement in power. The oilcooler and intercooler can protect the engine lowering oil, water and internal temperatures and EGT's. The camshaft is the cherry in the top of the cake! but none of this is as important as the the chip program. That makes the car fun to drive. I think I already publish the dyno with the stock ecu right? (maybe it was only on tdiclub.com)

Miguel tunes my car as well hope to meet him as he is comming over to England soon, need to get my boost lowered so that i can add mopre propane and get more power.Have you ever thought of adding propane or methonal injection on your car ? Propane works a treat and is cheaper to run then diesel !

Had my setup done at Jabba yesterday - basic engine spec is hybrid & fmic from Allards, plus decatted exhaust and few other bits like the cupra intake and green filter.

220bhp and 350lb/ft on standard injectors. Am I pleased? Boy am I!? This was in the freezing cold though, so should level out around 216. FMIC should do the job of keeping the air cool in the Summer though, so doubt it'll drop below 215 regardless of weather.

Now's the time for other RRs to tally up and verify the true output. ;)

Nope, basically a "standard" vRS engine - nothing touched really apart from the turbo. Injectors might be next, but I'm happy with it now, the way it is. Its tricky enough to get 220 horses down on the road, let alone 240/250. :D
