Ha?! The screens come i different sizes? Are the models of those units are listed anywhere?
You're right, you get driving data, eco consumers or vehicle status. The setup button gives you access to the tyres menu. Then in addition you get radio or media controls on the top right depending on what you are using.
5" is standard but you can get 5.8" with proximity sensor, voice control amd ipod connection if you spec sat nav or the media system + (included in the uk tech pack).
I also noticed this changes the quality of display in the dials

Had a play with this tonight, can't get the screen to appear like the picture posted but assume that must be the 5" setup? Also is there anyway to view the tyre pressures? Or does the system only alert you if it senses a drop in pressure?
Did 100 miles this morning, started in town traffic, then 50mph stretch on the beloved M6 and then 60mph cruising with overtaking at 70-75mph. 56mpg
Did 100 miles this evening, mainly motorway at 70-80mph (shall we say, no cruising, want to get home type driving, heavier acceleration) 46.7mpg.
400 or so miles on the clock so far I think.
That's awesome and consistent with what I've heard from others, sounds like a good engine.

The interesting thing is that the distance left to refuel didn't change even after I drove almost 37mi, but changed only by 13mi after I drove 45mi.
The numbers are very far from the ones that were done in lab conditions by Seat and I am not sure what it means and how can I verify that I don't have a problem.
Anyone else here with the 1.8TSI engine can report their consumption?

If everyone will make a very similar test it might give a better perspective about the real fuel consumption.
What do you say about doing the following set of tests: Put the car on cruise control and drive for 1 minute (maybe more?) for 25mph (40km/h), 50km/h, 60km... up to, lets say, 120km/h if the law allows it.
One should also report ambient, coolant and oil temperature for each test.

100 miles without using any lines of fuel. First time I've done that so I'm hoping for some good performance after the return tonight when I fill it back up.

Best I've managed without using a line of fuel is 70 miles. What's your best for a tank? I've managed 545, but a lot of my driving is country roads which doesn't help. Also, I'm guessing that the tuning box as helped the consumption?
The trouble with this sort of test is it doesn't take into account the terain , if I travel from my misses house to my mothers I average 53mpg, if I travel back to my misses I average 35mpg.... This is because its mostly downhill and uphill on the return

I've done 3 trips in a row before which is 600 miles and the light was not on. Not sure how big the tank is. I rarely go under half tank though.
We will see with the tuning box, today is part of my test and the fill up tonight will confirm. Initial signs look good though.
It sounds like I don't do nearly the motorway mileage that you do, which is probably a big factor as my daily commute is a 16 mile trip on country roads lol
What I do notice is the big difference that the external temperature makes. Today was 8 degrees and I managed to get 53.5 mpg to work while a couple of weeks ago when it was about 1 degree, I struggled to get to 45mpg due to the engine taking an age to warm up. How ever the summer months should make a massive difference so roll on the warmer days
My commute is 99% 70mph roads. It does involve the m25 though so 70 is sometimes a wild dream.
I sometimes do a 15 mile trip with about a billion rounderbouts on 50 roads and get mid 50s.
Warner temps will help shorter trips. It take mine about 13 miles at 70mph to get the oil to 100 C.
Colder air is actually better when your up to temp though.

Ahh, that'll make a big difference then. Though mid 50's for a short trip is also very good! I do love how a car can produce 184ps but still great fuel consumption

Also good to see things are going smoothly with your tuning box, got mine scheduled in for summer time when my insurance is due for renewal.
