Rear wiper replacement

I have got a new wiper blade for the rear of my Altea XL - how do I get the existing one out? It looks like there is the aero arm thingy and the wiper itself clicks into it but I don't know what to do.

As is usual with these things, there are lots of plastic clips and I don't fancy breaking them off!

there should be some form of lever or pinch part,just fiddle round with it,it should be ok to use a bit of force!

The inside middle of the new wiper doesnt seem to have any traditional clip to fit onto a wiper arm. But the blade that is on it just now seems to have some sort of plastic clip in it so I am guessing that is what holds it in.

Do you know if that plastic clip is part of the arm ie. the old blade prises away from it and the new one clips over it, or does the plastic clip come away as well?

If it's like the rear wiper on the facelift Altea, what you need to do is to slide the cover clip at the end of the arm away to the right whilst holding the blade completely still in relation to the arm. Once the clip is slid off, the blade assembly can be unclipped from the arm.

I needed a new rear blade on my 2010 Altea, and found SEAT only sell the complete arm assembly. So I got hold of a Bosch A330H blade from here.

It's a perfect fit, proper Bosch Aero part (although not 100% identical to the OE - it has longer 'Bosch' branded ends on the blade). Looks good, though, works well and less than half the SEAT part cost.

OK, forget all that. Just looked at pics of the XL, and it's not the same rear wiper at all.

OK managed to get it changed.

The wiper itself just pushes into the clip that is in the wiper arm, so it just took a bit of leverage, and bravery, and the blade popped out.
Replacement was the reverse process, push it in and it clipped back in.

When you see these black plastic clips you are always wary if they will just be brittle and snap off but these seemed robust enough.
