Ongoing issue with my car, the dealer I purchased from are f'ing useless. Seat CS are on the case but they need to know what dealer I'll be visiting.

Could someone please recommend a dealer/service dept within Beds, Cambs or Northants.

Thanks in advance

out of interest which dealer are you having problems with, it looks like you're fairly close to me and I have issues with the dealer in Northampton so I'm looking to go elsewhere

Hi mate,

Robinson's would be my choice, I use the one in Lowestoft (01502) 516831 even though I am now 170 miles away. They are also in Ipswich so bit nearer to you - they sell and service SEAT, Audi and VW.

Although not getting my new car from there - have bought 3 from them (purely due to distance and getting there during week) I intend to use them for servicing.

Thanks for the responses. I'm in Thrapston Mick, so just down the road. You having probs with Motor Vouge then? I bought mine from Cecil and Larter in Bury St Edmunds. I'm glad they proved their aftersales service as I was going to buy a Mii from them in June and possibly swap mine for a ST Cupra later this year. I bought two cars from them within 5 months and the salesman didnt even have the decency to acknowledge me. Twunt.

Service dept were patronising and useless.

Rob, Ipswich is closer to my work (Cambridge) but possibly to far for me to practicaaly visit from home or during my lunch break.

No probs bud, may be worth a call to them for advice.

Funnily enough almost bought a mk1 cupra r from Cecil & Larter, but I wasn't impressed by the sales guy, this was in 2006 mind. Then went to Lowestoft and bought their ex demo Sport 185.

I have kept going back to Robinson's as they are (were) the complete opposite to C & L.

MotorVogue had three attempts to do things that should have been done on pdi, ended up adjusting the washers myself as they seemed incapable of doing it. Lied to me about a gearbox warning and the door rattle issues, wouldn't mind but they told me two different versions of what they had done when in actual fact they hadn't done anything apart from leave oil over the seat and door[:@]:censored:.

Seat CS got involved and wanted me to take it back in to the dealer , they got told politely what to do and I would be doing the work myself. Not only have they lost my service work but also the sale of another car.

Had a recommendation about Milton Keynes dealer so may well try them for service in a couple of months

Funnily enough Robinsons have a good 0% offer on the Mii, spotted it online last week. Was going to call them to see what stock they had and see if they'd deliver it to Cambs.

Thats shocking. I'd be furious. Lancaster in MK?

If you call Lowestoft ask for Kevin Brown - manages their auto emocion used cars at the mo I think, but sure will be able to help (feel free to say you got recommended by Rob of course)

Good luck with it.

Thats great Rob and much appreciated. Thank you

Lancaster in Milton Keynes aren't that bad. They helped me quite all right when I had problems.

speak as you find.
nothing wrong with catching someone doing something right....
they shift a lot of cars around here, and there aren't many bad recent reviews.
mine was perfect when collected, had no issues at all other than a couple of rattles, and they fixed them first time.
courtesy car (Mii) was clean, mine was ready when promised, and clean in and out.
good people.
Hope you can fix your problems....

Shortlisted based on your rec.

i've discovered a lot of front and rear overspray on mine. On trim that shouldnt be like that from the factory. Based on that and my alignment/tyre wear woes Im starting to think the worse.....

The cynicin me thinks the dealer is covering their ass...

I bought mine from Motorvogue Northampton!! Fortunately haven't needed anything since I bought it.

I will be having it serviced at Stonacre in Peterborough, mainly because they're a mile from where I work.

They were generally "ok" with my last car, a few years back I wouldn't have recommended them tbh, but they are much better now I think. The 184 is in for it's first service on Monday.

You'll have to let us know how you get on, Motorvogue won't be touching mine again so need some options.
I was an Aftersales Manager for Mitsubishi a few years ago so I suppose my expectations are high but it's nothing more than I wouldn't have expected my staff to deliver, just don't lie to me[:@]

Hi, I'm in the same position. Stoneacre are my nearest dealer. Please tell us how it goes. Cheers :D

So it appears that the dealer rankings (Seat usually near bottom) from surveys such as JD Power are justified. Makes me realise that Skoda and VW were'nt that bad after all.

I'm waiting for a call back from a CS case manager on Monday. I'm going to visit Chips Away in Cambridge on Monday and ask them to check paint thickness and signs of repair too.

The fact I clayed the car and a shi7 load of blue paint (NSF bumper) was on the clay is a concern.

If the worse should happen then I won't be accepting anything other than a refund and I'll be off to get a GTD estate.
