Hey guys,

some of u wanted me to let you know ma date for the remap, its gonna be next saturday @ 1pm. (jan 28th?)

slightly worried about what ppl have been saying about the cupra bumper and no air flow...that might seriously hamper my performance...and cant justify the price of the FMIC.

will see anyway, I must be mad....new car, cupra looks and cupra performance all in one month!! gawd!!! See ppl there then i suppose!!

i would'nt fit the Cpra bumper without a front mount intercooler. When i had mine on for the week it kept going into limp mode, specialy as remapped. You will need to remove the cowling from the side mount and run with the foglight out until its done.

In my personal opinion you woul dbe best spending the remap money on a Front mount and then get a stage 2 custom code afterewards, see much better gains and more impressive use of time and money.

do a search, but i think most will back me up on this.

take it slowly otherwise you will have nothing else to do the rest of the year.

With the tdi i am getting i am gonna just drive it for a couple of months, thne when used to the power get it remapped then. plus occasionally Group buys turn up and you will get it cheaper, and don't forget this mayb eon another site so check em all, even VW and Audi ones.

ypu sure will get more gains if you do the Front mount then do the stage 2 custome code. Seems silly to not get the full gain fromthe intercooler????

surely, what say others?

yes it will, it will reduce your intake temps giving better performance, ok not 40 odd bhp like the remap, but you will feel it pull better, than you have'nt wasted £550 on a cc stage 1 and then have to go and get another phase 2 done.

trust me this is the best way to do it. I'm sure once spaniels sees this he will give you a lecture on the pros of FMIC. the choice is yours as well, you can go forge, but why not look at allards. Forge are pretty new to the market with theirs, but allards have been knocking them out for well over a year or so, plus Allards are a Diesel only specialist and prepare VW racings own car.

But worth shopping around, or even go for a standard seat one,

the only thing i am not too sure on with the forge one is the actuall size of it, i woul dlove to see logs for the temps on a forge fmic vs a standard cupra Tdi one. has this been done yet?

another reason to hang on me thinks, could be good

Yes :D

They are doing a group buy on my old car forum @ £350 + vat with all the hoses ;)

I know each car is different but it's a lot cheaper in price than most others :)

Just got to wait now!

:roflmao:  What do you mean Ant? get use to the power:lol: . Your gonna be downgrading it 100 bhp nearly. Yep group buys do turn up, usually 2 months too late[:@] as i found out after buying my forge fmic.

:wtf: are you talking about? I dont mean to be offensive but why do you think that the cupra has them as standard? They arnt just their for show! they do dramatically reduse your intake temperatures and like others have said, if your getting custom code then your intake temperatures are gonna go sky high especially with no air flow to the smic with the cupar bumpers on.
Where not trying to put you off getting custom code but seriously think about it, where only trying to help you get the most out of your car and make sure that it isnt gonna break or go wrong and keep going into limp mode.
I could instantly notice the differnce on my car when i first fitted the fmic, it pulled alot harder through the entire rev range, and why dont you save your money, get the mods done first,ie exhaust fmic etc and then reap the benifits with stage 2.
At the end of the day it is entirely up to yourself, all we can do is advise you on whats best to do and the way that we would do things.
Thats my piece.

The logs for the Forge one were done on my Revo'd car and cpufreak might have logs of the Seatsport one on his Revo'd so it could be worth asking him even though he was using slightly different code to me.
