Replacement fob or can it be fixed?

Hi,
My remote fob has stopped working for my 52 plate Leon Cupra - no red light etc. etc.
Changed battery but still no light or any response from central locking or alarm.

Do I need to replace whole fob or can it be fixed / re-synced?? Any help gratefully received.

i would assume that it would show the red light whether it was sync'd or not. Assuming that the LED is not broken then a new key is on the horizon i would say.

I know it sounds silly but make sure the batteries are the right way up. I had this with a Renault key fob and it really did my head in. Try it you never know!

I agree ,took me 6 months to realize I'd put the battery in the wrong way round.

Thanks for replies, I ended up reading older thread about same problem and found the answer.
Cleaned out fob and squirted WD40 on contacts, replaced battery (yes it was the right way up, thanks anyway) and all works fine, didn't even have to resync fob, result.
