Hi, I am new to the forum and this is my first post, so apologies if this has been asked before. I bought a 2008 FR170 Leon last month, which has built in Bluetooth and the bigger MFD. I absolutely hate the crappy stereo in the car and want to get an RNS510 retrofitted. I have been looking on eBay and there is very rarely any of these units for Seats, but there seems to be loads for VW's. can anyone tell me if a VW unit will work the same in my car and if this is the case, is there any way to change the boot logo to Seat?

Also, I have read about battery drain issues with some of these units? Is there a specific model I should avoid. Would also be useful to know how difficult it is to fit one of these and just any advice in general that I need to know to do a retrofit.

Cheers in advance

Does the kenwood do everything the RNS510 does? Also, does it work with the MFD and steering wheel controls?

Yes SEAT dealers sell them for a £1000 they are completely oem and function with the steering controls and Bluetooth if built in. Do a quick search and let me know what you think.

Hmmm might be interested, looks good on the kenwood site. Why you selling yours if you don't mind me asking?

Do you need to get your car plugged into vag com for everything to work on the car, I.e steering wheel controls etc?

What sort of money you looking to get for it? Was really looking to get the RNS510 but if the price is right I may be tempted to go for a kenwood unit

Thanks for coming back to me. It's probably a bit out my price range to be honest, I am only looking to spend around the £400 mark and I have seen some rns510's on eBay around my price range, so will probably stick to my original plan

I recently fitted the VW RNS510 Led version, it fitted easily and is a lot better than the crappy Seat version. Because its got the sd slot at the bottom, a little of your original dash needs to be cut away to allow the unit to slide in place. Apart from that its a 25 minute job. Mine plays DVDs on the move and has speed cameras warnings on the nav. It also has voice activation with the Bluetooth. If you need help I can send pics of the bits you need to cut.

Sounds easy to do then? Did you need to do anything in particular to get the unit working with your steering wheel controls?

Can I also aks where you got your unit from, as there are a few on Ebay that are pretty cheap but a lot of them seem to be in Lithuania, Poland etc and I am not too sure about buying one from abroad. Would also be awesome if you could send me some pictures:D

The full post code feature is really good, I had an RNS fitted in my previous A4 and the post code function was annoying. Being able to watch DVDs on the move is also great for the kids.

Does the Seat version have sd card slots to put the music on the hard drive?
When I was looking to source an RNS510, the VW ones where cheaper than the Seat ones. Plus the software was more up to date, maps, speed cameras etc
