I've owned my 2007 Altea XL 1.9Tdi for just a few days now and really like the car. But, it has the worst ride quality I've experienced in a modern car. It's not just bouncy which I can live with, it also rocks from side to side when you drive over an undulating road surface. Any clues anybody? Also, I expected better than the 50 mpg I'm getting on a run. I had an Octavia 1.9Tdi Ambiente (admittedly only 90bhp!) but that would return 65mpg. I'm light-footed and my driving is fairly gentle.
